About our Nursery
Session Times
Morning sessions – 8.45am to 11.45am
Afternoon sessions – 11.45am to 2.45pm
All day sessions – 8.45am to 2.45pm
Uniform
We would like all children to wear uniform. Uniform will be Black/grey jogging bottoms or leggings, white t-shirts, red jumpers or cardigans or red/white checked school dresses. You can purchase these from School, Uniformwise in Stanford-le-Hope, and
uniformsbyNiki online.
Snack
We provide fruit and biscuits daily and water and milk.
Lunch
If your child attends afternoons or all day sessions they will need a lunch. You can provide them with a packed lunch or purchase a lunch from the school kitchen for them. Any purchased lunches will be brought across to the Nursery and children will eat there. If you wish to purchase lunches please complete the attached dinner ordering form and make sure it is returned to Nursery staff by the end of the day on the Friday before.
Password
In order to keep our children safe we operate a password system. Please complete the password form stating who is allowed to collect your child and giving a password to be used. That way we can ensure the person collecting your child is authorised to do so.
Settling in
You will be offered a starting date and a stay and play session. Stay and play sessions last around an hour and are a chance for you to see how your child interacts with our environment, staff and other children. If you have requested a full day session your child’s first session will be for just half a day to see how they cope before beginning full days. All children settle differently and we will work alongside you and your child to make this process as easy as possible.
Key Workers
We operate a key worker system within the Nursery. We allocate a Key Worker to your child once they have been in for a few sessions. The Key Worker will be the adult who looks out for your child and forms a special bond with them. They will meet with you to look over the things your child has been doing and to review their progress.
Fees
If you are entitled to 2 year old funding please ensure a copy of your entitlement paperwork is given to the office as soon as possible. If you are not entitled to the 2 year old funding all sessions are charged at £18. All 3 and 4 year old are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare. Any additional sessions are charged at £18 per session and are payable half a term in advance using the school’s online payment system.
Hair/Jewellery
We ask that no Jewellery is work to Nursery and long hair is tied back away from the face.
Spare clothing
We ask all children to bring a named drawstring bag or small rucksack containing a full change of clothes into Nursery.
We go outdoors in all weathers so on cold days please ensure your child has a coat. On warmer days please put sun cream on your child before they come to Nursery and provide them with a named hat. Should they stay all day please provide a named bottle of sun cream and we can reapply at lunchtime.
Health Needs
If your child has any health needs please speak to Mrs Bray and we can complete a Health Care Plan for your child. Staff are trained to use Epipens.
Absence
If your child is going to be absent from Nursery please contact the school office on 01375 673260. There is an answer phone in operation if someone is unable to take your call. If your child has vomiting or diarrhoea they must not come back to Nursery for 48 hours after the last episode.
